Responsible to the Commercial Sales & Procurement Manager of the company for the management and organisation of multiple client’s New Business together with any other duties requested as directed by the board.

The roles and responsibilities include:

  • Cold call potential new businesses.
  • Research and target dedicated commercial prospect lists.
  • Conduct credit checks using internal systems.
  • Email potential customers with introduction letter/proposals, account application packs, terms & conditions, prices and any other information required to complete application.
  • Up sell all other products and companies within the Group.
  • Request up to date financial accounts as required for the credit department.
  • Confirm with customer when their new account is open and what their payment terms and credit limits are.
  • Account manage new customers to maintain volume and margin.
  • Input and update all relevant data onto the company bespoke computer systems.
  • Produce weekly and monthly target progress reports.
  • Marketing. E- Marketing campaigns. From ideas to production and send out. Collate stats on e-marketing campaigns, once completed on spreadsheets.
  • Advertising. Contact local publications and collate rates, circulation stats and publication dates. Produce copy for publications by deadlines. To promote the group of companies.
  • Manage Lubricants. Give input on new user friendly lube computer system.
  • Promote new brands when acquired: including the update of all product data, prices and item codes.
  • Responsible to the Commercial sales & Procurement Manager.

Any other duties requested by the board of directors.

Due to the location of the office, a full driving licence and your own transport is preferred.

The successful candidate will be expected to manage and develop the company’s existing customer accounts ensuring continuous business and the up selling of all other products.

Whilst previous experience within the Fuel industry is not a pre-requisite, a proven track record within a telesales background in B2B market sectors would be advantageous. The individual should have an excellent telephone manner, strong negotiation skills and a thorough level of organisation, as well as the ability to build strong customer/supplier relationships combined with the hunger to succeed in this role.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Review customer accounts to ensure continuous maintenance of volumes, margins and limits
  • Organising daily routine
  • Conduct credit checks using internal systems
  • E-Mail customers with intro letters, proposals and illustrations of products and services
  • Input and up-date all relevant data onto the company bespoke computer system
  • Produce Excel spread sheets to give clear indication of daily tasks
  • Work on Marketing and E- Marketing campaigns by generating ideas, working on production and send out
  • Collate stats from the E-Marketing campaigns onto spreadsheets
  • Meeting weekly sales targets
  • Presenting sales reports to Management on a weekly basis

Full training will be given to the right candidate.

A bespoke commission/bonus structure will be introduced upon the successful completion of a three-month probationary period. Our client, based in Feering, Colchester, boasts excellent working conditions with modern, spacious offices and onsite parking.
